Corn Relish and Pickles and Aprons - Oh My !!!!

Hello!
I have been busy this summer.  Haven't posted in a while - but plan to remedy that with a few things I have been making over the summer.  I would like to start with these.....I just love to can - remember my post about the Onion Jelly....Well, here are my newest endeavors.....Corn Relish and Refrigerator Pickles.  It was so fun.  I had picked up some corn at a local stand - bought way too much - and decided to make the relish.  Planning to use it this weekend as a dip with corn chips.  Hope everyone likes it.
Love the Pickles - have already finished off one jar.  So easy and yummy with lots of onions and bell peppers.
I have also been sewing a few things - have to keep busy.  These are aprons made from a leg of jeans.  Just cut along inside seam, open up and curve sides.  I am a big fan of oil cloth and have lots of pieces sitting around.  Thought it would be cute for the pockets.  A little bias tape and ribbon for ties and they are ready to go.
Here is my second apron - with a visitor just as I snapped the picture.  Little Poof has really grown.....hope you like these as much as him - let me know what you think.....

The daughter of my friend has a new little baby girl so I made this little banner onesie for her. I think it turned out really cute and it's so easy to make. I ironed fusible web to back of rainbow colored fabrics then cut out the small triangle shapes.  After ironing them in place I outlined each with a blanket stitch of white floss.  They "hang" from a line created with white floss in a basic outline stitch.

I added securely stitched buttons on either side for a bit of cuteness - and I was done.  The whole thing only took a couple of hours.  I hope she likes it...I'll let you know....let me know what you think......

New Aprons

Here are a few aprons I made this summer.  I have to keep busy.....I love the process of putting the different fabrics together  - it is such fun to figure out all the colors combinations. As you have seen in past posts - I am a fabricaholic....so I have plenty to chose from.  Then I get to choose and sew on rick rack and bias tape....I just love to sew......
I thought this was the cutest bird fabric - kind of Scandinavian and retro together......
I had to have this fabric it's red and turquoise - again a very retro feel -
This owl fabric was so cute - I just had to have it.  I liked the pleating around the edge - a fun look.
Love this pink one - it was fun finding all the different prints for this.  Add a few buttons and I'm finished.
I will show you more later.  Hope you like them.

New Bibs with Riley Blake Designs

When I saw this fabric I knew I had to have it, didn't know what I was going to make at the time - just knew I had to have it.  This is called Woodland Trails by Sheri Berry.  So Cute!

I decided to make bibs since the round design lent themselves so well.   I added some embroidery stitches for dimension.  Add some rick rack and bias tape around the neck and you're ready to go.
The fabric is sold as a panel with so many different designs....can hardly wait to make the rest.
A cute owl......with some added buttons
 and mouse.....
These were so fun to make - hope it gives you an idea so you will make some too.

Red Riding Hood Purse

I love this purse.  I picked up the fabric in Hawaii - I just had to have it - it's red and turquoise. I made up the pattern and added a felt flower I picked up at Michael's.

I embroidered the leaves for detail.  I just love the feel of the needle going through felt.  I also love the red checked bias tape I purchased at Joann's.
Haven't used this yet - I may sell it on Etsy.  Let me know what you think - I may be able to give it up.
I can also put together a turtorial if any one is interested, just let me know.

A Happy Customer!
This is Lauren whom I work with at iLoveToCreate! . I made this apron for her - it is the cutest bee fabric and when added with the black polka dot - well what can I say! It's too cute. It started out as a half apron be she wanted the bib so I added it for her. Now I need to make one for myself!

Aren't these beautiful? I guess only a person who sews could appreciate them - My bother-in-law (bless his soul) when through my thread box and put them together by color. The sun was hitting them just right for this beautiful picture. Some of these threads are from my grandmother and some from just a few weeks ago - but together they create a lovely picture. It sure is a lot easier to find them here than hunt through the tangled mess they were.

I've been working on a new purse - hope to post soon.

My fruit salad arpons - cherries and pears......

Hello -
I'm back!!!! Have been very busy making and creating - and had lots of fun doing it. I had to clean up my studio just to see what I have to create more with. I am planning on making a vow only to use what I have already have and not to buy more - hope I can keep it.
Wanted to show you a few aprons I made for my last show - guess I'm in an apron roll - they are so fun to make - I love the feel of the fabric as the needle goes through, I love choosing the different fabrics and even sewing on the seam binding.....I love it all.

I also was part of a craft show - wanted to show what I made for it. Did OK at the show - but still somewhat slow.
